REPORTS of COMMITTEES

Pension Fund Committee

Larry Reed reported that the Pension began 2020 at 3.39 Billion and ended the year at 3.65 Billion.  This was approximately a 8% YTD increase.  Since the fund needed 5% to consider the 13th check, that looks favorable at this time but will not be known for sure until all investments have reported in.  That may take till March/April.  Inflation at the end of November was 0.9% and the fund expects the final number for the year to be approximately 1%.

The Pension staff is still working remotely and will continue through the end of January.  Any one needing in person business can request it by calling the fund.

The Pension legislative committee will not be filing a legislative package this year due to the Firefighters Union opposing the bill.  They are not giving any reason for their opposition to the bill.
