ZOOM VIRTUAL MEETING OF October 13, 2020

CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 1:30 PM by President Mike Trainer.
OPENING CEREMONIES
Our invocation was led by President Mike Trainer which was followed by our members reciting the pledge of allegiance.

The minutes of the September 2020 meeting were presented
Presidents Report
President Trainer Asked the Chairman of the Nominating Committee, Armando Ynostrosa, for his report on nominations for the board elections. The following were presented by the Nominating Committee.

President Trainer advises that the list is only suggested nominations from the committee and that any other member can be nominated or declare themselves a candidate for any of the positions at the November meeting prior to the vote.
President Trainer presented a board motion to update our by-laws to provide the guidelines for virtual, or electronic meetings. The vote was 16 for with none opposing. Board motion passed and bylaws will be updated to take effect immediately.
President trainer discussed the boards decision to have a mailout to support the SAPOA in their effort to man polling location to inform voters of the importance of a well-funded police force. This is in response to a group that will be at the polls trying to gather signatures to eliminate the civil service and collective bargaining contracts of the San Antonio Police Officers. President Trainer will prepare the material and obtain the supplies and Recording Secretary Gay will coordinate the mailout.
Treasurer
Treasurer Charles Ricketts reported on the Associations’ deposits and expenses and gave a detailed explanation of monies in all accounts.
Corresponding Secretary – Fire
David Perez reported he sent out 3 sympathy cards during the previous month.
Corresponding Secretary – Police
Armando Ynostrosa reported he sent out 3 sympathy cards and 2 get well cards during the previous month.
REPORTS of COMMITTEES
Pension Fund Committee
The Pension Fund is at 3.40 billion as of the meeting which is up 15 million YTD. This is approx. a 1.5% increase. The fund needs 5% or greater for the fiscal yeat to consider a 13th check.
Inflation for the first 8 months of 2020 is at 0.5%
The Pension Office is now open with Covid 19 precautions being adhered to.
The Funds legislative committee has prepared a legislative package to the upcoming 2021 session. The package contains only wording and language changes that are needed. The board approved the package to be presented to the membership. Motion to approve and proceed with the package was made by Earnest Gay, seconded by Charles Ricketts. Motion passed without opposition.
Pre-Funded Health Insurance Committee
Henry Trevino reported the fund was at $418,447,924.66 which is up 4 million YTD.
PAC Fund Committee/ Endorsement Committee
PAC Treasurers Report
PAC Treasurer, Don Wagoner, reported on the income and expenses of the PAC and gave the balance in the account.
ADJOURNMENT
After the PAC report, President Trainer adjourned the meeting without opposition.
