On Sunday, January 5, President Joe Biden signed the Social Security Fairness Act into law, repealing past tax provisions which reduced the Social Security benefits for public employees and their spouses if they also earned a pension.

The San Antonio Fire and Police Pensioners’ Association will work in 2025 to inform members as to how this might impact their retirement planning and benefits. Stay tuned for special announcements about this effort.

  1. Y’all should be more blunt in your communications.

    Maybe tell retirees that this will not take money out of their pockets, and they should discuss this with their tax advisor to see if it will put more money in their pockets.

    Very simple message.
