The San Antonio Fire and Police Pensioners’ Association invites all members and their families to a special event on May 14. We will come together to honor and remember our fellow members who passed away in 2023.

Memorial Service Details:

  • Date: May 14
  • Time: Following the Membership meeting, scheduled at 1:30 p.m.
  • Location: Office of the San Antonio Fire and Police Pension Fund,  at 11603 W. Coker Loop, Suite 201, San Antonio, TX 7821612. You can reach them at (210) 534-3262 or via email at info@safppf.org.
  • Purpose: To pay tribute to all San Antonio Firefighters and Police Officers who have left us.
  • Duration: The memorial service will follow our Monthly members meeting, which will likely be short.
  • Musical Tribute: A bagpipe player will help us remember our brothers and sisters in their eternal rest.

Volunteer Opportunity: Recording Secretary Position Available

The San Antonio Fire and Police Pensioners’ Association is actively seeking a dedicated member to serve as the Recording Secretary. This crucial role for SAFPPA has these responsibilities:

  1. Monthly Meetings: The Recording Secretary will attend monthly meetings of the association.
  2. Note-Taking: During these meetings, the Recording Secretary will make a recording of the meeting or otherwise take notes on discussions, decisions, and important points.
  3. Meeting Minutes: Based on the notes, the Recording Secretary will create a first draft of meeting minutes for review by other Board members.
  4. Executive Board Involvement: As a member of the 8-member executive Board, the Recording Secretary will actively participate in association matters and Executive Board meetings.
  5. Technical Support: During the monthly second Tuesday Membership meeting, the Recording Secretary will operate the computer and projector. This involves displaying reports from other Board members.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to summarize discussions accurately
  • Willingness to collaborate with fellow Board members
  • Computer software skills
